      Information is the recipe for success. Developing a keen and insightful knowledge of our patients is critical before diving into a treatment course. We obtain a thorough and comprehensive clinical history that is supplemented by psychiatric rating scales for various disorders such as depression, anxiety, OCD, and ADHD, as well as prior medical and mental health records, and if necessary, input by family and caregivers.       Our approach to selecting psychiatric medication and therapeutics relies on the evidence-based medicine. Each and every one of us is very familiar with the latest and best practice principles because we are lifelong students continually learning through journal articles, continuing medical education (CME) lectures, and team meetings. While the scientific data driven approach is important, it should be heavily tempered by a personalized format. Medicine is both a science and an art. Evidence-based treatments created by researchers are not personalized. They are based on averages and limited in addressing comorbidity, heterogeneity, and the needs of clients with minoritized identities. At CC, the clinical judgment of our medication management psychiatrists is based on a marriage of a patient\u2019s unique needs and evidence-based data.<\/p>

      When it comes to psychopharmacology a collective brain is better than an individual brain. Our medication management psychiatrist team works collaboratively, ensuring comprehensive and thoughtful care. We do not work in independent silos.
